Declutter and Organize to Save Money

Things don’t get lost. Cluttered cupboards and pantries make it hard to find items. It’s easy to forget about things and only discover them once they’ve expired. When it’s easy to see things in your cupboards, on your shelves and in your closet you know what you have and don’t make the mistake and buy a duplicate because you forgot you had one already. When things are in order, you know exactly what you have and it gets used up, saving money.

You can take advantage of what you have. When your wardrobe is organized, you save valuable time picking outfits, knowing what you have, and being comfortable in what you wear. Don’t keep clothes that you aren’t confident wearing. If you don’t feel amazing in a particular dress because it doesn’t fit well, get it out of your closet. Life is too short to keep a closet or drawers stuffed with clothes that we’re waiting to fit back into. Choose quality items that make you feel confident when you wear them.

Extends the lifespan of your stuff. By taking care of your items, you extend their life and save money. Everything should have a home and taking the time to put them away will prolong their life. Clothes on the floor can take a beating and dishes strewn about can break. Save money by just taking a few minutes to put things back where they belong,

Your Digital Life Needs Attention Too. Make sure to stay on top of subscriptions, unused apps and organize your digital files as well. We often forget our subscriptions and unused apps until we notice the charge. Our phones can be a distraction as well. With too many mediocre pictures taking up space. Take the time to delete photos, unsubscribe any time you get an email from a company you don’t want. It’s time well spent.

Save on Storage Costs. Whether it’s a storage unit, your basement or garage, your clutter is costing you money to store. Is the storage unit worth the cost? Would you rather have the stuff in your garage or get to park your car in there? Storing stuff takes up room and costs money. Only keep things that earn their value.
